Nigeria At 64: Do Not Write Off Our Country -Tobi Dafe

Tobi Dafe, a Nigerian leading Socialprenuer and analyst has appealed to Nigeria citizens and foreign investors to collectively work towards the realization of a better country of their dreams.

He made this appeal in an episode, dedicated to Nigerian as the nation marked her 64th independence.

He assured that if all hand are on deck, and a proper database is designed for accountability and patriotism, Nigeria will be a great nation.

Tobi Dafe wrote:

Happy Independence Day to our dear nation Nigeria.

A lot has been said about Nigeria, first of all let us thank God for surviving this far as a nation and also for being alive today.

No doubt Nigeria should be better than what it is right now, condemning the country would only further worsen the problem, we must resolve to remain positive, and hope for a better Nigeria and collectively work towards the realization.

One of our major problems in this country is PATRIOTISM, me, me me, the selfishness in us as a people is a major problem.

Leadership is now like a plague in our land, people voted into power now see the masses as their slaves, the quest for power is greater than the quest for service to the people.

“We might need to make leadership school mandatory in thIs country to learn steward leadership as some of the leadership style has become a major challenge”

Secondly, it is time we had a realistic database in this country, as it would really help us in planning and implementation, do we know the numbers of unemployment in our country?

Do we have the data for the numbers of graduates we produce annually?

Thirdly there is no doubt that Fuel is a major player in our lives today and it is affecting the cost of living so badly, the government needs to come up with an urgent solution, people are dying of hunger.

Furthermore, it is very strange that we suffer to buy what we have in abundance, an oil producing nation going through this for fuel!!!

We need to look at how to increase what we produce as a nation because we are far below equilibrium in terms of imports and exports, this would also give value to our naira.

Lastly I urge us all to speak positively about Nigeria as the change includes you and I.

God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
